Themes and arguments.

The arguments put forward or contested in the videos, grouped by theme and by period. Our local model draws them from a sample of political sentences, then they are checked against the sentences; each quote links back to its video.

Quebec election results and biological mechanisms of weight

Institutions and democracy

The CAQ's defeat is described as a catastrophe and a total debacle by NLB - FreedomNews, where one speaker explains this result by a lack of government visibility and a desire for renewal. In the same video, another speaker claims that the King's representative is useless and proposes allocating their funds to fight homelessness. Meanwhile, Daniel Pilon Chroniqueur Libre-Penseur argues that globalists hold the real power and that the election results force parties to collaborate after eight years of unilateral decisions.

Health

Excess weight is presented by Daniel Pilon Chroniqueur Libre-Penseur as a biological survival mechanism in response to threats perceived by the brain. The same channel suggests that weight gain can be a strategy to avoid loneliness by seeking to become indispensable.

The arguments

What is put forward, and by whom.

Our local model read the theme’s sentences without knowing their channel or orientation. It grouped those making the same argument and worded each of them. Each card shows who carries it, its clearest quotes and all its sentences. Orientation shares and quotes come from the sentences, not from the model.

The periods

The theme, year by year.

Political sentences on the theme by period; click a period to show it. The number also depends on the share of videos transcribed, which varies a lot from year to year.

How the arguments are drawn

The theme’s political sentences are drawn at random by period, with quotas per orientation and a cap per channel and per video. Our local model reads the sentences without knowing their channel or orientation, groups those making the same argument, separates those reporting it in order to contest it and sets aside those off the theme. Orientation shares and quotes come from the sentences, never from the model. The last seven days are read again every day.
