YOUPOL

An observatory of political YouTube and TikTok.

YouPol tracks more than 100 political channels and accounts in France, Quebec and the United States. Using machine-learning and artificial-intelligence methods, the observatory collects, archives and analyses the videos, what they say and the reactions they draw from the public.

Seven days of content on YouTube and TikTok · 30 September to 6 October 2026

Political YouTube and TikTok, the last week in brief

Every video published by the tracked channels is transcribed, summarised and counted by our local models. This panel gathers the synthesis of the last seven days, the records to read, the themes, the public figures named, the arguments and the removals; the three countries together or one of them, as you choose.

Financial Promises of Donald Trump and Geopolitical Tensions in the Middle East

Donald Trump promises the granting of 5,000 dollars to adult citizens in the event of an electoral victory. Brian Tyler Cohen, from the left orientation, describes this proposal as a bribe, while MeidasTouch, also from the left, considers these promises to be lying and inflationary. At the same time, MeidasTouch claims that the candidate shows signs of cognitive decline. On the financial front, harryjsisson argues that Donald Trump favored his family businesses during his term. Regarding the candidate's communication, Breaking Points disputes the figure of 107 million views claimed by Trump for his convention.

Middle East Conflicts and Defense

The situation in Gaza and relations with Iran are subject to divergent positions. PowerfulJRE, from the culture orientation, denounces the injustice in Gaza and American funding of Israel. Conversely, Ben Shapiro, from the conservative right, argues that Iran uses terrorism to push the United States toward surrender. Ben Shapiro and xaviaer, also from the conservative right, report an attempted flight diversion to Tel Aviv, with xaviaer describing the perpetrator as a terrorist. On the military level, Breaking Points claims that the Pentagon lied about a bombed site in Minab to cover up a war crime. Regarding weaponry, Breaking Points attributes the depletion of THAAD missiles to the profits of the military-industrial complex, while tuckercarlson, from the far right, argues that the new nuclear doctrine lowers the threshold for deploying tactical weapons.

Economy and Cost of Living

The causes of economic instability are disputed. Brian Tyler Cohen links the economic slowdown to Donald Trump's tariffs, while MeidasTouch denounces the lack of a plan in the face of a 40 trillion dollar debt. For his part, Ben Shapiro attributes inflation to state interventionism. Breaking Points reports the disillusionment of Republican voters facing the rise in the price of diesel and hygiene products. Regarding future technologies, Breaking Points advocates for a robot tax, while Bill Gates considers AI to be the most dangerous invention in history.

Social Issues and International Politics

The Cornell 7 case pits harryjsisson, who claims that documents prove the guilt of the rape accused and an attempt at concealment, against Ben Shapiro, who argues there is a lack of legal evidence. On gender, xaviaer claims that God is non-binary and criticizes James Tallarico. Regarding France, Ben Shapiro claims the country is bankrupt and that student riots are manipulated by the left and radical Islam, while reporting that Jean-Luc Mélenchon accuses the government of conducting a repression with racist undertones. Finally, hasandpiker argues that American foreign policy has destabilized the world, while Legal AF reports a citizen mobilization to protect the vote against alleged interference attempts by Donald Trump and the Republicans.

The corpus

Three countries, two platforms, 11 channels

Each channel is chosen and coded by the team. It gets an orientation, a country and a language. The far right is deliberately over-represented, to study it closely. The English-language corpus was extended in October 2026. Its videos are transcribed and summarised, and its classifiers will soon be trained and deployed.

Our method

Detect, extract, transcribe, classify, name, summarise

Six methods, run on the project’s computers, each documented with its models, thresholds and reliability. Pick a step.

01 · Detect

The channels’ RSS feeds are read every six hours; every week their full list of videos is reread. A detected video enters the queue with its date; those of the last seven days go ahead of everything else.
